"My experience in the DACC Truck Driving Program was filled with a wide range of emotions. Before starting the program, I felt intimidated, especially since the trucking industry is predominantly male, and I had no prior experience in this field. On my first day of class, I was extremely nervous and even considered dropping out because I was the only female in the class. However, once the instructors outlined the lesson plan, rules, regulations, and expectations for the program, they worked hard to create a comfortable environment for all the students. They asked each of us about our plans after obtaining our CDLs and offered assistance in achieving our goals.
During the first two weeks, I focused on studying, completing my J.J. Keller assignments, and practicing on the simulator. While the simulator is a helpful tool that replicates the experience of driving a commercial vehicle, I often left school feeling frustrated and doubtful about my ability to operate such a large truck whenever I made mistakes. However, once I began the hands-on driving training, I found it relatively easy to catch on. This positive outcome was due to the simulator, listening to my instructors, and putting in long hours of studying.
Overall, my experience in the DACC Truck Driving Program was truly amazing. Every morning, the instructors checked in with the class to ensure we were grasping the lessons, answering any questions, and staying on track to obtain our CDLs. The instructors consistently encouraged me to persevere and reassured me that if I continued to study and apply myself, I would ultimately succeed. I am grateful that I was able to overcome my fears and doubts by stepping out of my comfort zone, setting realistic goals, and preparing to achieve them."

"I was at a point in my life where I felt like I was stuck on a plateau. I couldn't earn any more money, and I wasn't satisfied with the overall condition of my existence. DACC changed that, through their truck driving program I was able to earn the knowledge and achieve the credentials that I would need to completely change my situation. The class size is perfect so that you can have one-on-one time with the instructor if you need it. They really are invested in our success as a student. I'm definitely going back to learn more."

"Attending the trucking driving class at DACC has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. Before starting the program, I wasn't sure what to expect, but from the very first day the instructors made me feel confident and supported. They are not only great instructors but also experienced drivers who know exactly how to help students succeed. The program taught me how to safely and confidently drive a diesel truck. It's amazing how much I've learned about handling large vehicles, understanding road safety and preparing for a professional career in trucking. The hands-on training made all the difference--I don't just learn from a book; I learned by doing. Thanks to this program, I now have the skills and knowledge to start a career that can truly change my life. Truck driving offers freedom, stability, and opportunity and I am proud to say DACC gave me the foundation to make it happen."
